Summer is Around the Corner — Start Planning Now!

With summer just around the corner, I started thinking that there is no time like the present to start planning!

When I say planning, I don’t mean every day-to-day detail, but rather, those things I hope to accomplishe and those items that would assist me in having a fun-filled, yet relaxing summer!

To help inspire, I have decided to prepare a small list to get me started (and hopefully to help you get started as well):

  • To begin, prepare a list! Lists help us set our intentions, stay organized and also gives us gratification when we “check” items off
  • Clean out your closet — out with the previous season’s clothing, as well as those items from years past that no longer serve a purpose. This is also a great way to give back by donating items to others in need. Alternatively, it can be a great reason to plan a social gathering my doing a clothing swap!
  • Go shopping! Treat yourself to a few new summer items — a new bathing suit, new sun glasses or maybe that cute dress you have been eyeing up! Once you clean out your closet, you feel less guilty about doing this, and view it as a “reward” for your cleaning efforts!
  • Buy a few new “summer themed” items for your house! Creating a living space inspired by summer always makes me happy!
  • Stock-up on items to protect your skin and enjoy the sun! *Future blog on “Items to Carry in Your Beach Bag”. Stay tuned.
  • Plan a few BBQs, beach days and picnics. I have learned that summer comes quickly and everyone’s schedules fill up fast — another great reason to start planning and organizing early on.
  • Plan a vacation! This can be a weekend to the lake, or a stay-cation at home! Either way, it is SO important to plan time for you to relax and recharge.
  • Buy a new summer read! Having a new book always puts me in the mood for summer and has me dreaming of those days laying in the sand.
  • Start or continue your workout routine/healthy eating habits. Summer is a great time to get motivated.

Until summer arrives, enjoy day-dreaming about the anticipation of sun-filled days and all the amazing moments that will fill them; however, I remind you (as I am always reading myself) to enjoy the moment here and now!

Happy summer planning!
