Hi all!
I wear many hats in life – lawyer, wife, animal activist, sister, daughter, friend (to name but a few), but most importantly, I am a mom (to a two-legged boy and a four-legged boy).
Currently on maternity leave, I have been pondering many things between feedings and diaper changes, and one of those things has been to find my “purpose”. Cliche, maybe, but I realize that sharing stories and reflecting with others have always been near and dear to my heart, and have truly shaped who I am as a person. I am hoping that through this blog, I can capture the essence of those little things that not only help us get through our days, but to enjoy each and every one of them. I hope to reflect on experiences, products, quotes and other pieces that have shaped my day in the hopes that they can make a difference in yours.
As an introduction, I will say that I had every intention of starting this blog on November 1, 2016, but since life happens, here I am starting it today (November 2, 2016). That is the first thing I am going to share… a colleague of mine (Maggie Campbell) once said “Find peace with imperfection.” While this mantra has it’s time and place (as a lawyer, this clearly wouldn’t fly in the office), it is a good reminder, especially as a new mama!
Lastly, here is my all time favourite quote:
“[we can live] about forty days without food, three days without water, about eight minutes without air… but only one second without hope.” Hal Lindsey
I truly hope you enjoy this blog as much as I do in creating it.
Enjoy!
M.J.
