New Year, New You – Making Resolutions

By January 7, 2018No Comments

Happy New Year All! I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful Christmas and a good start to 2018!

With each new year comes an opportunity for change – to get rid of the old items, relationships, worries, etc and make room for the new.

If you are like me, you commit to a resolution or two or three or one hundred and within a few days have failed and give up.

Make this year different. Start by choosing one resolution — something that you want to work on in your life and be patient as you work towards it. Stay focused and hold yourself accountable, but allow yourself grace and time.

Another wonderful way to keep on track is to share your resolution with someone you trust and ask that person to hold you accountable. Check-in with yourself every now and again and chat with that person about your progress.

Another fun idea is to write down your resolution(s) and go through them year by year and see the growth and progress you have made.

I do this with two close friends and its such a wonderful (and free) therapy session! We have a bottle of wine, sit on the couch in matching clothes (lol) and go through a personal goal, a relationship/friendship goal, a marriage goal, a family goal and a professional goal for the next year.

Doing this is a great way to start the new year — and a new you!

Happy Resolution Making!
